The purpose of my Research Leave is to work on computational and geometric modelling, control and machine learning techniques for quantum technologies. Initially focused on applications in biology and medicine for imaging and sensing, to achieve relatively quick impact, these techniques are equally applicable to other quantum technologies in spintronics, coherent electronics, networking, quantum simulation, etc. It is a natural extension of my work related to geometric, computational and statistical modelling into novel application areas, enabling a long term research programme with substantial funding opportunities and international collaborations.
